Meg Hughes, Senior Account Manager
A beach and outdoor enthusiast, Meg found her way into the online Search world by chance.
Even though she had completed a Bachelor of Commerce specialising in Marketing, Search didn’t register on her radar until she came across an opportunity to work at Connected in February 2018. At the time, she was working in her first post-university role in Events and she knew it wasn’t the right fit.
Hired largely for her values and approach, Meg started in a graduate role learning from Connected’s pro Search team Josh (Connected Founder), Vijay, and Nina. After around six months, she began managing accounts and working directly with clients. With the agency still relatively small at the time, she had the opportunity to manage end-to-end campaigns and accelerate her learning.
A move to Queensland in early 2021 saw her temporarily change jobs to another agency where she led the Search team, and managed interns and a large number of accounts.
But it was the support provided and the strategic smarts at Connected that drew her back to the team.
“I really missed the learning and development that came with working with some seriously experienced leaders at Connected, as well as the strategic focus behind the campaigns” she said. “I’ve always felt supported and challenged at Connected, and I missed working in that environment”.
Meg re-joined the Connected team in December 2021 and is Connected’s first out-of-state team member. In 2022 she will be working out of our new Gold Coast office! As Senior Account Manager, she’ll looked after several Connected clients while also training and being support by two Digital Search Executives - one based in the Gold Coast (QLD) and one based in Thirroul (NSW).
